Catching up...

Well, I have been a bit tired lately (wonder why?) and have not been keeping this site up. Miss Shelly is loving preschool and just had her Christmas party today. Off for 2 weeks now! She hasn't missed a day of school yet and I think wishes she could go every day (only goes Monday/Tuesday mornings). She had her Christmas program last week and did a good job. It was fun watching them try to get the Pre-K 3 and 4 classes and the Kindergarten up on the stage at the same time!

We tried PeeWee basketball at the YMCA this winter but it was a no-go. Shelly didn't want to even go out there and shoot baskets after the first week. A bit rough and crazy for her.

This past weekend we went to Ohio to visit Papa and Nana Plaster and see the big Christmas production at their church. Papa took Shelly for an up close look at the donkey and the camels. Let's just say she wanted to see the camels "from afar". She did great sitting for over 1/2 of the programs before we took her to childcare. She loves Nana's peanut butter balls and wanted one last night instead of ice-cream.

Brandon and I, along with the rest of our families, have a hard time not spoiling her. I think this Christmas is going to be out-of-control with how many gifts she is getting. She helped me decorate the tree and likes to take the Island of Misfit Toys ornaments on and off the tree.

Exciting news that Shelly is going to be a little flower girl in my cousin Beth's wedding next June!! It will be her first wedding :) Baby C will be a little over a month old by then. Let's hope I can fit into a dress...LOL.

Peanut's progression....

I know I am blessed to have Doctors that allow me to have these ultrasounds to get me past the first few weeks of this miracle baby growing....I am 10 weeks tomorrow and still feel amazed this is happening. I don't have symptoms so that is tough but soon (2 or so weeks) I will be able to pick up the baby's heartbeat on the doppler which will be reassuring.

5 weeks 5 days gestational sac with yolk sac 10/1/09

Baby measuring 6 weeks, 6 days 10/8/09

Baby measuring 7 weeks, 3 days 10/13/09

Baby measuring 8 weeks, 3 days 10/20/09

Baby on 10/28/09- didn't take measurements but 9 weeks, 4 days along

So, you say, how many more of these will I have? Only time will tell. LOL . Please continue to keep us in your prayers

God has other plans...

Many of you know that Danielle is back with her first mommy as I tell Shelly. Things didn't work out and we miss her but feel peaceful and know that it was God's will for her to be in our lives even for only a short time. We will go back on the infant adoption list after a bit. We aren't quite ready to jump right back into things just yet. Shelly and I are in Ohio visiting my parents and Brandon will join us at some point this week. I still have to work remotely but Shelly will be busy with the zoo, park, swimming, etc!

1st trip to dentist

Shelly went to the dentist yesterday for her first cleaning. I was braced for some crying and clinging to me but no, she did awesome. She laid there holding my hand as I sat right next to her. We had to remind her a few times to open wider. She just stared up and was quiet as a mouse. I didn't have my phone with me so no pictures but BC took a few. I don't know if he can get those off his phone. Anyway, her report was good. All 20 teeth were there :) A few "watch spots" where there are deeper pits that are harder to clean. She got to pick out which princess toothbrush she wanted and the assistant even made her a hotdog doggie balloon while we waited for the dentist to come in. Pretty cool.

Easter Egg Hunt

Before the start of the "hunt". She wasn't quite sure what to think of it all.
At first she just stood there and watched all the kids picking up the eggs. She finally caught on as we told her to pick up a certain color egg near her. She is not this shy/overwhelmed at home so it always catches us off guard. Afterwards we tried to get her to hold up the basket and smile. Of course, this is the closest we got to that picture. We saw a girl posing and smiling....not our Shelly girl, we need a camera with a really quick snap....

Happy 3rd Birthday!

Well, the Tinkerbell party is over and mommy is happy about that! How can one VERY SIMPLE party be so much work? Shelly enjoyed it though she was a bit overwhelmed and does get shy around so many people. We also had to wake her up from her nap for the party. Why won't she nap long on the afternoons I have to work from home? LOL

This is her with Nana and Papa (still waking up)

Add Video

still waking up before the party...

Opening presents was crazy. All of the kids wanted to "help". Shelly opened the cards later. Our book lover got 14 new books!! She has to sleep with like 10 Golden Books stacked next to her in bed or she screams. She carries her books with her right when she wakes up to the couch. It really is funny but at the same time I love it as I am a reader :)

Betty's Cake and Nana Plaster's homemade oreo ice-cream were a hit!
Eating with cousin Tristan. And Daddy cut some big pieces and cake. We didn't have many leftovers :)

The kids loved her blow-up jumpy "castle" as she calls it in the basement. I think some of the kids will convince their parents to come play at our house so they can jump some more!
We ended the evening at Pizza King where Aunt Tara spent about $10 in quarters getting every kid there what they wanted from a gumball toy machine! She had to keep going until the right toy came out. It was cute.
Thank you everyone who came and for giving Shelly such a wonderful party! She loves her new books, clothes, and toys.

Big Kiss!

Our girl LOVES chocolate and went to town on her Hershey's kiss! And no, we didn't let her eat the whole thing at once :) She is still working on it!

Valentine Princess

Shelly got a box in the mail the other day from Nana and Papa Creighton and in it she found a few Valentine presents. . . . she dressed up as Valentine Princess today including heart bows and socks!

Love the pigtails!

She has been "busting a move" when any music comes on and this is her new move. It is so hilarious to watch.

She is almost 3 years old and so ready to be a big sister. We go see our neighbors baby at least twice a week. She wants to go every day! There was a baby at class this morning and she barely left his side. She wants to do everything to take care of the baby. It is so sweet. I will have to watch her as she might be a little "overzealous" in her care of her new brother/sister when he/she arrives.

She is doing good in her big girl bed...next we have to tackle potty training. She is being stubborn so I haven't pushed it yet. Keep wishing she'd just tell me she was ready. LOL.

UPDATE: Tonight she had no diaper on getting ready for bed and said she had to go potty and went :) Woohoo. One step closer. I think we need to go without a diaper for a few days when we can be home. We will see?

Shrine Circus trip

Shelly loved the circus. Well, not the lion roaring 3 feet away from us in a cage before the show...nor the tiger walking around.

They had a fair in the basement before the actual show where you could ride animals and see the tigers and lion up close.

We made it a whole day/weekend and stayed overnight at the new Holiday Inn right across from the circus. Shelly LOVED swimming. I think we are going to have a hard time keeping her out of the water this summer.

We had dinner at Bandido's and our Shelly girl loves chips and salsa!

Back at the hotel singing nursery rhymes in bed with Daddy.

Itsy-Bitsy Spider....

The wheels on the bus....
